The problem I had was that I'd move into an area, wave spawns in, I'll mow them down, then I'll start to head to the next area, but wait, there's another wave, okay, I better fall back, I mow them down, now I finally get to move on- oh wait, another wave, really? Lets just fall back again. Don't get me wrong, mowing down hundreds of enemies at a time with a minigun is very fun. The waves, oh my god the waves of enemies were one of the biggest issues I had with the game. Later on I started asking myself 'When is this game going to end?' The levels were the most cookie-cutter bullshit I've ever had to endure, it was either urban egyptian environment, underground temple, desert, or running around outside egyptian pyramids and such. But man, that music was getting repetitive, where's that cool metal music from earlier? The first couple levels were a blast, running through egypt, mowing down guys. While the co-op is the star of the show, the singleplayer experience doesnвЂ™t shine nearly as much solo and definitely suffers from a case of having done it all before.I recently completed Serious Sam 3 BFE on 360, I read the shining reviews about how fun and action packed it is, about how it's a fantastic classic shooter not bogged down by tropes common in today's video games (Pseudo realistic, modern military, scripted events, et cetera), and while I do love me some Halo or Battlefield, I have fond memories of Quake and Doom (I still frequently play Doom as well), and decided I should pick it up. Ultimately, Serious Sam 3 is a really fun shooter, but I canвЂ™t help but feel Croteam could have mixed up the formula a bit. Luckily, itвЂ™s possible to restart a level via the in-game voting system. Additionally, more than once I ran into bugs that made completion of a level impossible. While the online play is mostly stable, I was never able to have a lag-free play session, which led to some frustrating deaths. I had some fun with it, but the real draw is the campaign.Д®verythingвЂ™s not all wine and roses with the co-op, however.

ItвЂ™s so much fun, that even though I needed to turn this review in, I replayed the entire campaign mode in one sitting prior to finishing this writeup.Д®ven though the combat in the campaign mode can feel a bit like survival modes in other games, Croteam has included a separate Survival mode with two maps, and itвЂ™s about what youвЂ™d expect. ItвЂ™s like playing DOOM with God mode turned on, and yes, itвЂ™s mindless, but itвЂ™s an absolute riot and has to be experienced to be believed. But for my money, the real fun in the game is had when you play on Classic mode with fifteen other players. If you want to coordinate with your teammates and be challenged by the game, you definitely want to be playing on Standard of Coin-Op mode. The minigun is a great way to bring the house down at parties.
